Antardaśā (Bhukti)

अन्तर्दशा

Everyday Hindi: अंतर्दशा

Sub-period within a major daśā, also called bhukti.

Definition

An antardaśā (or bhukti) is a subdivision of a mahādaśā. In Vimśottarī each mahādaśā is divided among all nine grahas in the same order, beginning with its own lord, and the length of each part is (mahādaśā years × antardaśā lord's years) ÷ 120. For example, the Venus antardaśā within the Sun mahādaśā lasts 6 × 20 ÷ 120 = 1 year.
