Brahmasthāna
ब्रह्मस्थान
The central zone of the vāstu grid, assigned to Brahmā.
Definition
The brahmasthāna ('place of Brahmā') is the centre of the vāstu-puruṣa-maṇḍala: the central nine cells of the 81-cell grid, or the central four of the 64-cell grid. The texts describe it as the zone to be kept open and unburdened, which is reflected in the central courtyard of many traditional Indian houses and temples. Vastu Directions are one of the research themes of the School's programme.
