Dhanu (Sagittarius, 'the bow') is the ninth rasi, 240°–270° of the sidereal zodiac. It is a dual, fiery, odd sign ruled by Jupiter, whose mūlatrikoṇa occupies its first ten degrees. The Sun's passage through Dhanu defines the solar month of the same name, which ends at Makara Saṅkrānti.
