Nīca

Nīca, debilitation, is the sign exactly opposite a graha's exaltation, with the deepest point at the same degree: the Sun in Tulā 10°, the Moon in Vṛścika 3°, Mars in Karka 28°, and so on. The texts read a debilitated graha as weak in what it signifies, but Phaladeepika and other texts give conditions of nīca-bhaṅga (cancellation) under which the reading changes.
