Candra
चन्द्र
Everyday Hindi: चंद्रमा (चंद्र)
The Moon: mind, mother, emotion and nourishment.
Definition
Candra, the Moon, is called the manas (mind) of the kālapuruṣa. It rules Karka, is exalted in Vṛṣabha and debilitated in Vṛścika, and its nakshatra at birth sets the starting point of the Vimśottarī daśā. Much of the system is also read from the Moon: the Chandra yogas, gocara and Sade Sati are all counted from its sign.
