Sāḍhe-sātī
साढ़ेसाती
Saturn's 7½-year transit through the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the Moon.
Definition
Sāḍhe-sātī (Hindi, 'seven and a half') is the period during which Saturn transits the 12th, 1st and 2nd signs from the natal Moon; at about two and a half years per sign it lasts roughly seven and a half years. It is commonly divided into a rising, a peak and a setting phase, one for each sign. The term comes from popular almanac usage, while the classical basis is the gocara reading of Saturn from the Moon in texts such as Phaladeepika ch. 26.
