Candra lagna

Candra lagna takes the sign occupied by the Moon as the first house and counts the other houses from it. BPHS and Phaladeepika read many yogas from the Moon as well as from the Lagna, and gocara, Sade Sati and Chandra yogas such as Sunaphā and Kemadruma are all counted from it. A North Indian convention is to draw the Candra kuṇḍalī beside the birth chart.
