Gāndharvaveda

Gāndharvaveda is the Upaveda of music and the performing arts, traditionally attached to the Sāmaveda, whose chanted melodies are an early source of Indian musical thought. Bharata's Nāṭyaśāstra, on drama, music and dance, and Śārṅgadeva's Saṅgītaratnākara (13th century) are among its principal texts.
