Kāla Sarpa doṣa
कालसर्पदोष
Everyday Hindi: कालसर्प दोष
All seven grahas lying on one side of the Rāhu–Ketu axis.
Definition
Kāla Sarpa doṣa is said to occur when all seven grahas from the Sun to Saturn lie within the half of the zodiac running from Rāhu to Ketu. It is not found in BPHS, Bṛhajjātaka, Saravali or Phaladeepika and is a product of modern practice, which names twelve types after Rāhu's house (Ananta in the first to Śeṣanāga in the twelfth). It is distinct from the classical Sarpa yoga, which is defined by malefics in the kendras.
