Tārā kūṭa

Tārā kūṭa carries three points. The count from one person's birth nakshatra to the other's is divided by nine, and the remainder names one of the nine tārās: janma, sampat, vipat, kṣema, pratyari, sādhaka, vadha, mitra and atimitra. The third, fifth and seventh (vipat, pratyari, vadha) are counted as unfavourable, and the count is made in both directions.
