Gocara
गोचर
Transit: the current movement of grahas over the birth chart.
Definition
Gocara ('moving through') is the reading of the grahas' current positions against the birth chart, counted chiefly from the natal Moon sign. Phaladeepika ch. 26 sets out, for each graha, the houses from the Moon in which its transit is read as favourable, together with vedha (obstruction) points that cancel that reading. Planetary Transits are one of the research themes of the School's Certificate Programme in Predictive Astrology.
