Kanyā

Kanyā (Virgo, 'the maiden') is the sixth rasi, 150°–180° of the sidereal zodiac. It is a dual, earthy, even sign ruled by Mercury, which is also exalted here (deepest at 15°) and has its mūlatrikoṇa in the following degrees; Venus is debilitated in it. In the kālapuruṣa scheme it corresponds to the waist.
