Paṇaphara

The paṇapharas are the second, fifth, eighth and eleventh houses, those that follow the kendras; the term comes from the Greek epanaphora. Varāhamihira uses it in the opening chapter of Bṛhajjātaka, and the texts give grahas here a middling prominence, between the kendras and the āpoklimas.
