फलदीपिका

Mantreśvara's South Indian manual of horā in twenty-eight chapters.

Definition

The Phaladīpikā ('lamp of results') is a horā text by Mantreśvara, a South Indian author whom scholars date anywhere from the 13th to the 16th century. Among its twenty-eight chapters, chapter 6 sets out many yogas, including the Pañca Mahāpuruṣa, Chandra and Viparīta yogas, chapter 7 the Rāja yogas, and chapter 26 the reading of transits. It is widely cited in modern Parāśarī practice.
