Sārāvalī
सारावली
Kalyāṇavarman's extensive horā compendium, expanding on Varāhamihira.
Definition
The Sārāvalī ('string of essences') is a horā compendium by Kalyāṇavarman, generally dated to around the 9th–10th century. In some fifty-four chapters it expands the material of the Bṛhajjātaka, with detailed descriptions of two- and three-graha conjunctions, yogas and the effects of grahas in signs and houses. Later authors, including Mantreśvara, draw on it extensively.
