Yoga (in a chart)

In horā texts a yoga ('joining') is a named combination of grahas, signs and houses with a stated condition, such as Gajakesarī (Jupiter in a kendra from the Moon) or the Rāja yogas between kendra and trikoṇa lords. BPHS, Bṛhajjātaka, Saravali and Phaladeepika each list a great many, often differing in detail. The texts read a yoga in the light of the strength of the grahas forming it and the daśās in which it operates, not in isolation.
