Varga
वर्ग
Everyday Hindi: वर्ग (विभागीय कुंडली)
Divisional chart: a sign subdivided to give a derived chart.
Definition
A varga is a divisional chart produced by dividing each sign into equal parts and mapping each part to a sign. BPHS lists sixteen (ṣoḍaśavarga): D1, D2 (horā), D3 (drekkāṇa), D4, D7, D9 (navāṃśa), D10 (daśāṃśa), D12, D16, D20, D24, D27, D30 (triṃśāṃśa), D40, D45 and D60. Smaller sets such as the ṣaḍvarga and saptavarga are used to assess dignity, and the finer vargas change with a few minutes' difference in birth time.
