Definition
Vṛścika (Scorpio, 'the scorpion') is the eighth rasi, 210°–240° of the sidereal zodiac. It is a fixed, watery, even sign ruled by Mars, and the Moon is debilitated in it (deepest at 3°). Its junction with Dhanu, at the boundary of Jyeṣṭhā and Mūla nakshatras, is one of the three gaṇḍānta points.
