Āyur bhāva (Randhra, Mṛtyu bhāva)

The eighth house is called āyus ('life-span'), randhra ('opening, weak point') and mṛtyu bhāva. The texts assign to it longevity, obstacles, inheritance, occult study and unforeseen events. It is a duḥsthāna and a paṇaphara house; Saturn is its natural kāraka.
